ENERGY EFFICIENCY ECOMAGINATION “TREASURE HUNT,”

Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and GE along with the city of Orlando came up with an innovative ‘treasure hunt’ which had the main motive that was to save a lot of energy.

There are energy audits done by the respective groups to keep a check and understand the consumption of energy in the various public and private facilities around the United States. They are looking at showing the many businesses or communities for that matter as to the efficiency with which energy consumption can be managed and for that matter largely saved. GE which is among the world leaders in electronic and a giant MNC, has already and potently conducted treasure hunts all within their own organization.

a Wal-Mart distribution center in Bentonville, Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, the Atlanta airport, an Allison Transmission plant in Indiana are among the centers where the treasure hunt has already been conducted. On the whole, 11 treasure hunts have been conducted yet.

For example, one of the treasure hunt as it took place at the Orlando’s Citrus Bowl had them realize that the stadium could actually do a saving of about eight percent by consuming that much less energy. The experts literally checked every aspect of the energy supply and consumption chain at the ground. Right from the sky boxes to the cheerleaders’ locker rooms were all neatly tested and surveyed accordingly.

They even continued with the testing even as matches were being played already. The Citrus Bowl was built way back in 1936. The ground itself has undergone a series of upgrades and refurbishments. It has hosted a series of events over the past many years and is a historical stadium at that. The annual Capital One, Champs Sports Bowls, annual Monster Jam are among the main attractions as held here. There re also other concerts and events that take place at the stadium.
